Police have not yet confirmed, however, there are strong beliefs that the 26-year-old suspect suffers from mental health issues. According to reports, his family was worried about the violent way he was behaving and took him to an Apostolic church shrine in Redcliff for prayers.
While at the church, the suspect managed to escape and drive back to an uncle’s house. Here, he proceeded to kill three children, one of whom was a seven-month-old baby.
From there, the suspect continued to track down his uncle at a nearby policeman’s house. He then attacked and stabbed the policeman and two other bystanders and killed another 33-year-old man.
Lastly, the man went back to his own home to attack two women before police were able to arrest him. The women were unfortunately already dead when police arrived on the scene.
Ever since the arrest, further investigations are in full swing to find out the reasons behind this tragic incident. Further action also needs to be taken in order to get the suspect the mental help he needs.
