A 23-year-old Zimbabwean woman was arrested for allegedly selling sex toys to school children. After being on the run for a week, the woman who stands accused of exposing minors to pornographic content, encouraging them to engage in sexual activities and smuggling sex toys, was denied bail according to Zimbabwean media reports.
Ayanda Mpondo, 23, had grown a huge following on social media because of the business she was running. Her business called Bedroom Toys, which is mainly marketed on social media, advertised various sex toys and had a huge customer base.
The business came to a halt when she was arrested by the police for allegedly selling sex toys to school children who are under the legal age to be taking part in sexual intercourse. She has been denied bail by the Mbare Magistrates Court and was charged with violating the Customs and Excise Act and exposing children to pornographic material, according to iharare.com
According to the Zimbabwean Herald, Mpondo was on the run for a week after she found out that the police were looking for her and she tempered with evidence when she took down her pages where she advertised sex toys.
Many of her followers on social media said they stand in solidarity with her and emphasised that she is only running a business and trying to make an income.
