Media personality Bonang Mathemba is known for her glamour, light spirit and sense of humour, sent shockwaves as she took aim at Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa over the South African National Monument Flag Project.
The 34-year-old former Top Billing presenter came across an interview between JJ Tabane and Minister of Sports, Art, and Culture, Nathi Mthethwa, where they discussed governments plan to erect a 120-metre flag which is expected to cost around R22 million.
Bonang took to twitter to voice out her complete dissatisfaction over the R22 million that would be spent on a flag.
One of her tweets read: “You’re useless and we all hate you, which had a heart which could be viewed as being sarcastic.
Her other tweet said: “You have no clue what you’re doing. Go away!”
The department announced this week that it would a “symbol of unity and national pride”. The department further said the project would inspire “social cohesion”.
Social media users did not hold back and made sure that their dissatisfaction and anger over the R22 million fag project is known. Matheba’s tweet allowed people to voice their opinions over the issue. Here are some of the tweets that were shared:
