ANC takes another step to rule out corruption
In an attempt to clean up the corruption-tainted reputation of The African National Congress (ANC), the party’s national executive committee resolved a “loophole”.
The party has officially resolved that members who have been charged with a crime cannot run for office. With the previous rules, members who were facing criminal charges were merely expected to step aside from their roles.
Whereas now, they will not even be allowed to be considered for a role in the political party.
Johannesburg’s speed cameras are out of order
It has been revealed that Johannesburg’s speed cameras have not been operational for the last year. The eNCA reported that all speed prosecutions have stopped working since 31 May 2021.
The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department is hopeful that the issue will be resolved by the end of June 2022.
