Arthur Fraser lied about his qualifications
Arthur Fraser is the former head of the intelligence services and was involved with the Jacob Zuma medical parole case. However, it has just been reported that Fraser does not in fact have a degree from the University of London as his CV states.
According to his CV, Fraser enrolled for a BA degree in film and video production at the prestigious institution. But when journalist Jacques Pauw, investigated further he found that the “former spy boss” never attended the University of London. And what’s more, is that the university does not even offer a degree in film and video production.
In 2020, Pauw questioned Fraser’s background with correctional services spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo, but never got any answers.
“Since I communicated with you on March 4 2020, Mr Fraser’s profile on the department of correctional services website has changed. He now claims that he obtained a BA (Hons) degree in film and video production from the ‘London Institute’.
“There is no London Institute,” Pauw said in an email to Nxumalo.
Nersa to make a decision on Eskom’s covroversial tariff increase
This week, the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) will be deciding whether to award Eskom their controversial 20.5% tariff increase.
According to SA’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the approval of this tariff could be disastrous for the country, especially businesses.
Typhoid Fever outbreak in the Western Cape and the North West
Typhoid Fever has been identified in both provinces and the NICD says that they are investigating the outbreak to determine the severity. Read more here.
According to the Western Cape spokesperson for the provincial health department, municipal water has been tested and came back clean. Thus, the Western Cape municipality water does not contain the bacteria casting typhoid fever. However, this means that their teams have still not been able to find the origins of the outbreak.
