Before you take that much needed Sunday nap after a delicious Easter meal, make sure to put your devices on charge. EskomSePush just announced that Loadshedding Stage 2 is back at 4 PM today until Wednesday 20 April 2022.
As of Easter Sunday afternoon 17 April, Stage 2 loadshedding will be implemented from 17 to 20 April, from 16:00 to 05:00 the next morning.
The end of the Easter weekend may be dark as loadshedding stage 2 comes into effect
This just after we had already experienced loadshedding this Easter weekend. Eskom has furthermore warned customers, that in the case of “further deterioration” in generation capacity, further loadshedding may be required. And if more periods of loadshedding need to be implemented, chances are that it won’t stay at stage 2.
At this stage, there is 17 018 MW of capacity that are unavailable due to breakdowns.
Although Eskom remains apologetic, the situation seems dire as we prepare to hear how they plan to deal with the ongoing crisis before the winter season sets in.
