Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the mass shooting which claimed five lives in Endlovini, Khayelitsha in Cape Town on 14 March. According to Brigadier Novela Potelwa, the police spokesperson said organised crimes detectives arrested two suspects aged 25 and 28 for alleged involvement in the deadly that claimed five lives.
“The 25-year-old suspect was arrested in Cala in the Eastern Cape. Meanwhile, the second suspect, aged 28, who had given the police the run around, was arrested in Khayelitsha on Tuesday. An unlicensed firearm believed to be the murder weapon for the five murders, was found in his possession. An additional charge of illegal possession of a firearm was added to the murder charge he faces,” Potelwa said.

The police have now arrested three suspects for the deadly shooting in Khayelitsha. “The first arrest was effected on 11 April during a tracing operation that led investigators to a home in Khayelitsha. Thirty-four-year-old Madoda Zwayi appeared in court on 13 April 2022, facing murder charges,” Potelwa said.
The shooting that happened at New Monwabisi Park in Endlovini claimed the lives of four men and one woman. At the time of the incident, Potelwa said unknown gunmen in the early hours of the morning went to Monwabisi Informal Settlement and opened fire. The victims in the deadly shooting were aged between 25 and 35. The Two suspects arrested on Tuesday are expected to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates court on Wednesday.
