Pick n Pay is currently trialling a system that will allow motorists to renew their licence discs in-store. Hopefully, South Africans will now be able to skip the lines with this easy three-step renewal system.
Motorists can now skip the dreaded visit to the traffic department or post office
Normally, motorists could only renew licence discs at traffic departments or post offices. Whereas now the new Pick n Pay system aims to make it more convenient for the everyday shopper.
According to the retail store, motorists can make use of this “fast efficient system” when they register their cellphone numbers. Their numbers can be registered either in-store at a till or on the Pick n Pay Vehicle Licence Disc Online Renewal portal.
Here’s how to renew a licence disk at Pick n Pay
- Register with your cellpphone number in-store or online
- Set up your profile
- Select payment method – pay in a Pick n Pay store
- When paying in-store, provide your cellphone number as payment reference
- Pick n Pay will then courier your vehicle licence disc in 10 business days
“When you are ready to renew your vehicle licence disc, make sure you have uploaded the required documentation and captured the address you would like the disc to be delivered to on the portal.
“You can then set up a payment for your vehicle licence renewal and select to make payment in a Pick n Pay store. Your vehicle licence disc renewal payment will include the following, which is automatically added to your payment amount.”
How much will it cost to renew a licence disk at Pick n Pay?
The fees are as follows:
- A licence disc renewal admin fee of R345 (including VAT);
- A delivery fee of R99 (including VAT).
“If there are any outstanding fines that are blocking your renewal, you will have the option to select these fines to include in your payment.
“If you do not settle these fines, your disc cannot be renewed. The payment amount provided on the portal will be linked to your mobile number, which you can provide as a reference when making payment in-store.”
