LinkedIn has been changing the way the world finds jobs since 2005. Now, it seems that the company is increasingly becoming relevant in the job search.
Job search app LinkedIn sees significant growth
In recent statistics, LinkedIn has seen a growth of 17 percent in November 2022. Sensor Tower reports that the app has seen over 58 million downloads in the same year. Following the large number of lay-offs happening in numerous companies.
As many may recall, Twitter itself has seen a great number of staff layoffs as the company aimed to start afresh and infiltrate new rules into the workplace.
While Elon Musk had let go of many of his staff, the former CEO of Twitter also saw a great number of staff members resigning as a result of the new rules implemented. Some of which made employees feel undervalued.
As a result, many workers who were now unemployed turned to LinkedIn as their next avenue for a new work opportunity. Therefore, the use of the app increased significantly from the month of September to November 2022.
Even though the platform is a place for professional connections, and finding jobs, it has increasingly become home to social media influencers as well.
Tracking the success of the platform
As companies seek new ways to control their businesses, LinkedIn has become the first stop in seeking professional advice. In recent months, the platform has notably seen an increase in forming connections. The open-to-work function has also been used more and is reported to have been used 10 percent more than the previous year.
While the platform has been doing better than social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, its learning section has also seen a steady increase. That is, from the month of November.
According to the platform, LinkedIn Learning has seen an increase of 17 percent from the month of November 2022. The courses which are taught by numerous industry professionals include videos to better your skills in a particular niche. Members can even use these courses to branch out into a new career field.
More recently, LinkedIn has consistently become more of a social space. As many support groups have also been started to help those struggling to find work. It also encourages those to be better equipped when eventually finding a job.
In the online space today, the platform is expected to see much more growth. This comes as remote work becomes a comfortable avenue for many employers.
