According to royal expert Natalie Oliveri, the Duke of Cambridge Prince William is “preparing to be king” by helping out Queen Elizabeth following her hospitalization last week.
Prince William steps up
Duty called for William as the Queen has been advised to participate in light duties only. The palace also released a statement regarding the monarch’s duties:
“Her Majesty has regretfully decided that she will no longer travel to Glasgow to attend the Evening Reception of COP26 on Monday.”
Following the return of Prince William and Kate Middleton to London on Thursday, Oliveri expressed her expert views: “Now they had arrived on Thursday, the same day Queen Elizabeth was discharged from hospital so many people are seeing that as rushing back to be by the Queen’s side.”
She further said, “So far, we aren’t being told there is any cause for alarm but Prince William is one of the royals really stepping up, taking charge of these royal duties”.
And according to another report, both the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been taking lessons from the Queen for their future roles.
Prince Harry will always give his opinion to his brother
Pondering over the possibility of Prince William becoming King, the public takes a look at where the relationship is between Prince William and Harry after this year’s happenings.
Looking back to a 2010 interview, Prince Harry recognised that his key role was to be by his brother’s side and said that he would have given William advice even after becoming king.
“I will always give him as much support as I can. Sometimes it’s probably not valued, which is understandable as the older brother always thinks they know best. But I always give him my opinion where it’s needed.”
The Duke of Sussex added about his brother, William:
“When I think he’s wrong, I’ll tell him he’s wrong. Nine times out of 10 he puts that in his back pocket and carries on anyway, but in later life who knows?”
Following the Queen’s recent hospitalisation, fans of the royals all over the world have been urging Prince Harry to return to London, stating that “he will regret it” if he does not.
However, sources close to the family have assured the public that Queen Elizabeth’s health is under control and that she just needs plenty of rest.
