Lee Jihan is confirmed to be one of 153 people who died during a crowd surge in South Korea. He was just 24 years old.
Actor Lee Jihan dies in a tragic incident
Right now, it is currently unclear what caused the crowd surge in South Korea this past Monday. As many as 153 have died in the streets of Seoul, with two individuals being American.
Thus far, CBS News reports that at least 97 of the people who have died so far reported to women. Lee Jihan currently forms part of the number of individuals who passed this Monday.
According to witnesses at the time, people were bleeding from their noses and mouths while being given CPR as emergency services attended to the site. This is currently one of the most tragic events to take place in South Korea.
It is also reported that all the individuals who fell victim to the stampede were aged in their 20s and their 30s. BBC has identified some of the victims in the surge that took place on Monday. More information is expected to follow.
No details about the cause of the surge
To date, Lee Jihan is best known for his role in the drama series “Today Was Another Num Hyun Day”. The actor first burst onto the entertainment scene in 2017 when he participated in the competition Producers 101.
While Lee Jihan did not make it in the k-pop group, the actor started focussing on his career in acting and has since gained a good following for his work.
According to BBC, the actor’s agency 935 Entertainment confirmed the death of the beloved star. They described the singer as warm and loved by everyone.
935 Entertainment shared that Lee Jihan was a “bright and pure person who always greeted everyone with a smile”.
