After Elon Musk and David Beasley’s discussion via Twitter went viral when the billionaire said he will donate $6 billion to the UN, Jake Paul joined the discussion.
The former Youtuber took to Twitter on 1 November and stated that he will also donate a large sum of money, but only if Elon Musk donates his $6 billion and also if his tweet got retweeted 690k times.
When comparing the two, Musk is currently worth more than $300 billion. And Paul, who participates in celebrity boxing matches, is estimated to be worth $20 million.
In the past, Paul has contributed to some charities however, he has never made such a large donation as he states on his Twitter. In 2017, Paul worked with the Make a Wish Foundation and also participated in a charity soccer game for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
At present time, Paul’s tweet has only been retweeted 14.3k times, which still has an extremely long way to go before reaching 690k.
The latest between Elon Musk and David Beasley
The Executive Director of the UN World Food Programme, David Beasley, has further reached out to Musk, stating that he is willing to get “on the next flight” to Musk to discuss the UN’s spending.
“Let’s talk: It isn’t as complicated as Falcon Heavy, but too much at stake to not at least have a conversation. I can be on the next flight to you. Throw me out if you don’t like what you hear!”
Musk tweeted in reply: “Please publish your current & proposed spending in detail so people can see exactly where [the] money goes. Sunlight is a wonderful thing.”
