The grant payment dates have been confirmed by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) for the month of August. The staff has a difficult task of ensuring that the right people are paid at the right time and place, which require a significant amount of administration.
The dates which have been scheduled help you know when you will be getting your money. The grant is distributed to beneficiaries during the first week of every month.
The grants available include the Disability, Old Persons’, Care Dependency, and Child Support grants.
The SASSA Grant Payment dates are as follows:
- Old Person’s Grant: 2 August 2022 (this includes any grants linked to these accounts)
- Disability Grants: 3 August 2022 (this includes any grants linked to these accounts
- Foster Care Grants: 4 August 2022
- Care Dependency Grants: 4 August 2022
- Child Support Grant: 4 August 2022
Earlier this month, Sassa confirmed that Child Support Grant (CSG), which is a social grant for low-income families would increase. Anyone who is younger than 18 is considered a “child” and those who qualify and were beneficiaries of the grant will have their money increased.
The Sassa card is also a debit order. This means that the grant beneficiary can use the card to purchase goods and withdraw money. All the beneficiaries can use their cards withdraw money from the ATM or in supermarkets such as Boxer, Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Checkers and various other retail outlets.
