The Department of Basic Education has officially released the Matric results and the class of 2021 is, hopefully, celebrating.
More than 800 000 pupils sat down and wrote the matric exams in 67 subjects. And more than 13 000 pupils wrote the exams in 65 different subjects at Independent Examinations Board (IEB) schools.
The IEB results were available on Wednesday and revealed that they had an excellent overall pass rate of 98.39%.

Here’s how you can check your Matric results:
Buy and Check the newspapers
Check the Department of Basic Education’s site: Pupils can register on the department’s site to check results and it won’t cost any data.
Visit the Western Cape’s Department of Education site: All pupils who are registered in the Western Cape can access their results from the website.
Download the GPG app: Gauteng’s Department of Education has the option for viewing results under their “all popular services” tab.
Send an SMS: If a matriculant wants to receive their results via SMS, it will cost R1.50. The exam number can be sent to 35658 and your results will be sent back to you.
Dial the USSD code: Instructions will be sent on how to access your results if the USSD code *120*35658# is dialled.
Collect your Matric results at your school: All Matric results are available for collection from Friday, 21 January.
