Empangeni High School the largest and most well-known high school in KwaZulu-Natal has been working hard to put on stunning performances for its 65th school reunion, coming up in August this year. One of the highlights at the school is the large choir that has unbelievable talent to share.
A video was shared recently of their performance of the Quando Corpus Morietur, a Latin poem that explores what the Virgin Mary felt on the day when Jesus was crucified and hung on the cross. The song is classic and often sung by the world’s most famous opera houses and choirs.
While most of the performances were enjoyed, the choir had the audience in awe as the learners performed with absolute excellence. The performance had the audience in awe for the entire five minutes.
The choir began with a solo performance with absolute excellence as two of the learners opened the introduction with beautiful voices, they were joined by the entire choir in what became a world-class performance.
The choir gave the performance in front of parents and loved ones, once they were done there was a standing ovation and loud cheers for the exceptional work.
