The legal battle begins again as DJ Fresh (Thato Sikwane) and Euphonik (Themba Nkosi) faces a reopened sexual assault case made by “Nampree”.
According to the victim, DJ Fresh and Euphonik drugged and raped her a decade ago.
“Anonymous” Tweep accuses DJ Fresh and Euponik of rape
Last year January, a woman, who only goes by her Twitter name “@Nampree”, accused the due of raping and drugging her in Pretoria 10 years ago. She made these claims on Twitter.
In the post, she calls for DJ Fresh and Euphonik to acknowledge what they did. She further claims that she was a virgin at the time and that she had to take medication for her anxiety levels before she could publically speak out about the incident.
After speaking out and calling out her abusers, the “Nampree” opened a sexual assault case against both men at the Sunnyside Police Station in Pretoria.
However, due to “insufficient evidence” the case was originally dropped by the National Prosecution’s Authority (NPA).
At the time, spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana said: “Upon perusal of all the available evidence in the docket, a decision not to prosecute was taken. There are no prospects of successful prosecution on the available evidence because the evidence is insufficient”.
A bogus "private investigator" from Botswana walked into @SAPoliceService & said I hired him for my case, without verifying with me they gave him my ENTIRE docket. In his 'investigation' he made me look like a SW.

THAT'S HOW MY CASE GOT DISMISSED.
I wonder who hired Thabang.
The case gets reopened – but for what reason?
In the meantime, it has been confirmed by the victim’s legal representative, that police reopened the case in January 2022. Brenda Maumise-Pajibo confirmed the news with City Press
However, it is still unclear why police decided to reopen the case.
“We’re waiting to hear the reason they’ve decided to reopen it. Remember that once the DJs announced on Twitter that the NPA had decided not to prosecute, we launched a formal dispute and grievance against the police. They then undertook to investigate what had transpired with the case,” Madumise-Pajibo said.
Case REOPENED! Thank you all for your support 🙏 https://t.co/B0Rh20Yaor

Madumise-Pajibo wonders whether the police just reopened the case because they know the public protector is going to ask questions.
“We’ve been very consistent. We’ve also taken up this dispute with the public protector. We suspect that because the public protector is going to ask questions, the police have decided to say they’re reopening the case. However, they still haven’t responded to us.”
Seems like DJ Fresh’s life didn’t stay “drama-free” as he hoped after announcing his divorce from Thabiso Sikwane.
