Black Friday is one of the year’s biggest shopping events, and growing list of retailers are set to offer amazing deals.
For 2022, Black Friday is set to fall on 25 November, with a number of shops and retailers moving back to the old format of one-day deals after extending specials to account for more controlled foot traffic during the Covid19 pandemic in previous years.
Black Friday is a colloquial term for the Friday after Thanksgiving in the United States.
The event traditionally marks the beginning of Christmas shopping season with may store running massive sales at discounted prices and often open early.
In the past, retailers said they had run month-long promotions to prevent crowding in their stores. However, a few have decided to return to the old tradition of one day of substantial discounts.
South Africans often use promotions offered during the sales event to purchase goods which they would ordinarily avoid buying because of the prices. The discounted prices give customers an opportunity to purchase luxury items and get a lot of their festive season shopping done.
According to Business Tech, as with previous years, a number of major brands will participate in the anticipated sales rush- as well as small retailers also looking to get their slice of shoppers’ cash.
Online stores are expected to offer “Cyber Monday” promotions on 28 November 2022.
