Centurion, December 2, 2022: Mahindra South Africa closed its pre-order book for the all-new XUV700 after receiving a record 1 100 pre-orders in the two weeks to 30 November.
With the number of pre-orders received, the XUV700 sets a new pre-order record for Mahindra in the country. It also enables Mahindra to meet the high initial demand and to ensure that customers receive their vehicles as quickly as possible.
The XUV700 has been an overwhelming success in India, where it is the reigning Car of the Year and it has already received more than 40 awards its combination of ‘sci-fi’ technology, spirited performance, and world-class safety systems. It has also set a record for pre-orders in its home country.
In South Africa, the record of 1 100 pre-orders continues the trend set in India and confirms the hype that has been created for the new XUV700 in all markets. Incidentally, South Africa is the first country outside of India to launch the new XUV700.
With the pre-order book now closed, and following the overwhelming response from prospective customers, Mahindra is keeping the window for customers who have pre-ordered to pay their deposits up until 7 December.
Customers are invited to secure their delivery, and possibly qualify for the launch special, by placing a fully refundable deposit of R5 000 at their dealer of choice. Orders without deposits will sadly be cancelled and customers will lose their spot on the preferential order list.
Once deliveries start, Mahindra will reward the first 700 customers who have paid their R5 000 fully refundable deposit in one of two very special launch packages. Customers can opt for the free service plan and warranty extension up to 7 years, or ask for a set of running boards, a tow bar and a R3 000 fuel card at no cost to them.
Mahindra has also confirmed that the first XUV700 vehicle will be delivered to a customer in KwaZulu-Natal, with arrangements made for hand-over next week.
Three models of the XUV700 are available at launch, with the XUV700 AX5 starting at R474 999 and the range topping XUV700 AX7 L priced at R559 999.
All three models are fitted with a 149 kW 2-litre petrol engine, with luxuries such as a digital Superscreen for the vehicle information and infotainment system and a large Skyroof panoramic sunroof.
Mahindra will start the preparations for its new Scorpio-N, which is expected in the first quarter of 2023.
