Actor Wiseman Mncube to play Mqele Zulu in season 3
Thus far, Wiseman Mncube has made his stance clear when it comes to playing Mqele Mncube on The Wife. The actor spoke about taking on the role of Bonko Khoza and what it means to play the role.
“Mqhele is a very interesting role and I’m in my element, there’s a lot to chew on and play off, from the love story to the anger to the care.”
While reflecting on where Bonko Khoza has taken the role so far, the actor expressed what he would like to contribute to the show that is set to premiere this November.
“uBonko carried the role with so much respect and power. I’m not here to replace Bonko but to start my own journey as Mqhele and take things from where he left off and run with it in my own way.”
The Wife season 3 story line
Now, since viewers previously had a hard time fitting Bonko Khoza into the character of Mqele Zulu, fans have grown accustomed to him playing the character for two seasons.
Since Wiseman Mncube is taking over the role, the actor revealed that he is not on the show “to replace Bonko” but to take off from where he left off.

“I know that the actor who takes over will build from where I left off, so I’m looking forward to joining the 5am club to see how the incredible love stories between the brothers and their wives play out this season,”
As shared by Sowetan Live, The Wife focuses on new characters in each season. This November, season 3 will focus on Dr. Naledi Montsho falling in love with Qhawe Zulu.
