Kate Middleton has just added to her titles.
Earlier this week, Kate Middleton was made the honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards. This title was previously held by her husband Prince William.
Kate Middleton is now Colonel of the Irish Guards
At least ten years ago, Prince William became the Irish Guards’ first royal Colonel. Kate Middleton will now be the second royal member to obtain this title.
This year will also mark the first time in years that Kate Middleton and Prince William have returned to the United States. The royal couple paid a visit to Boston Massachusetts to attend the Earth Shot Prize ceremony.
The star-studded event included the likes of Ellie Goulding, Chloe and Halle, Shailene Woodley, and David Beckham. Of their time in Boston, the Prince of Wales noted that he and the Princess of Wales were “extremely delighted” to pay their first-ever visit to Boston.
What’s new in the royal family?
The Prince of Wales and Kate Middleton have also released their Christmas card this year. The photo included the royal couple’s three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and the youngest, Prince Louis.
Now, Kate Middleton is not the only royal with a newly appointed title. Queen Consort, Camilla has also been given the honorary Colonel of the Grenadier Guards. A title that was previously held by Prince Andrew before he was stripped of his royal and military titles.
Since Kate now has Prince William’s former title, the prince will now be the honorary Colonel of the Welsh Guards as reported by the Evening Standard.
In their visit to Boston, Prince William also met with President Joe Biden. The US president presented the John F. Kennedy library and museum.
Next year, King Charles III will hold the annual Trooping the Color event to celebrate his birthday on June 17th, 2023. This will mark six weeks after his scheduled coronation ceremony on May 6th. Regardless of the monarch’s actual birth date, the ceremony is usually held in a warm month.
