Tony Rock has not shied away from sharing his thoughts about Will Smith assaulting his brother back in March earlier this year and the comedian is now sharing his theory about the fiasco.
Comedian Tony Rock talks about Will Smith
So, in case you missed it, (which would be very unlikely), Will Smith was not impressed with a joke Chris Rock made about Jada Pinkett Smith.
At the Oscars this past March, Chris Rock joked with Jada Pinkett Smith that she would appear in a movie soon with the comedian saying “Jada, GI Joe see you soon”.
Evidently, this did not sit well with Jada as she struggles with alopecia. Which is a disease that causes your hair to fall out at random. While many thought that Will Smith’s anger was with the joke, Tony Rock thinks differently.
Will Smith on being ‘soft’
In an interview on the Top Billin podcast, Tony Rock shared that Will Smith most likely reacted in the way he did because of Jada’s relationship with the late rapper Tupac.
According to Complex, Tony Rock shared that Jada “won’t let Tupac die” as she brings him up at every opportunity. The comedian added that Will admitted that he hated being dubbed as soft. And is most likely living up to what Jada is holding onto with Tupac.
Earlier this year, Will Smith appeared on the Netflix show My Next Guest Needs no introduction with David Letterman. The actor shared that because he didn’t cuss in his music, he was told to be soft. Evidently, he couldn’t stand this.
To Tony Rock, Will Smith was most likely upset about many other things. One of those was the look Jada gave him at the Oscars. Which prompted him to assault Chris Rock on stage.
Thus far, Chris Rock hasn’t openly talked about the slap and how he feels. But has briefly joked about it before on one of his comedy sets.
