Even though cannabis has only recently become celebrated more freely in South Africa, people are eager to kick off the Cannabis Expo 2021.
After having to place the Expo on hold for more than two years due to the pandemic, the event’s director, Silas Howarth, shares his excitement.
“It is so exciting to be able to host The Cannabis Expo again and to be the first major exhibition to do so.”
What is The Cannabis Expo?
The expo can be seen as the main “marketplace” where knowledge about the plant is shared. It is also where innovative products and businesses can share how they serve the cannabis industry. Whether in medicinal, agricultural, financial or lifestyle aspects.
“The cannabis industry has been waiting to have this opportunity to get together and showcase all of the advancements and new products that are on offer.”
What to expect at the Expo?
The expo hall at the Sandton Convention Centre has over 100 exhibitors representing the “full spectrum of the cannabis industry”.
Panel discussions will be held every hour on the Convention Stage. Global industry leaders and local government representatives will also present talks.
There will also be a smaller, expo stage where experts and industry leaders will host presentations about cannabis-related topics. This will take place every 30 minutes and can cover health, agriculture, legislation, finance, etc.
Expo visitors can also expect to find treats at the Cannabis Food Market. Here they can indulge in delicious cannabis-infused food and drinks.
Furthermore, the expo will be hosting The Freedom Festival where delegates and exhibitors can get to know each other at an outdoor DJ get-together.
