Taylor Swift has been back in the studio after graduating from New York University earlier this year and swifties are currently losing their minds about the new music they will be getting soon.
Singer Taylor Swift makes a surprise announcement
Presently, the MTV Video Music Awards were full of surprises as Nicki Minaj, LL Cool J, and Jack Harlow hosted the event together this year. Among some of the surprises, was Taylor Swift announcing her latest album release.
In case you missed it, Taylor Swift previously struggled to get the right to the older music she released on her album Red. to date, the singer has been able to re-record some of her songs from her album Red.
One such of the songs includes All too well. It seems that fighting for her music was the right thing to do as Taylor Swift earned herself an MTV Video Music Award for the video of the year.
While accepting her award on stage, Taylor Swift started by thanking her fans for allowing her to do what she does. She further elaborated on their unwavering support.
“I know that every second of this moment that we wouldn’t have been able to make this short film if it weren’t for you, the fans. Because I wouldn’t be able to re-record my album if it weren’t for you.”
Midnight album to be released on 12 October
To top off her speech, Taylor Swift made the surprise announcement that her album will be coming out on the 21st of October this year. Thus far, a variety of artists have announced their albums on surprising dates including Beyonce when she announced the release of Renaissance.
“I had sort of made up my mind that if you were going to be this generous and give us this, I thought it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand-new album comes out Oct. 21. And I will tell you more at midnight.”

While this is exciting news, one moment that got fans talking was when Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj shared a hug on stage. If you’re not entirely sure about what went down between the two, Taylor previously spoke about Nicki to the press which clearly rubbed her the wrong way.
In response, Nicki Minaj mentioned Taylor Swift in her acceptance speech in 2015. The rapper stated, “Taylor what’s good?”
