Recently, Squid Game received four Emmy Awards at the ceremony. After being nominated in 14 categories and has simultaneously made history. This comes as actress Lee You-Mi is the first South Korean actress to win an Emmy Award.
Previously, Squid Game made history after being the first Korean Drama to be watched in millions of homes at the time of its release. To date, the Netflix drama is now making history with its very own actress Lee You-Mi.
Presently, Squid Game has been renewed for a second season as Netflix shared earlier this year. However, it is not clear when the new season will be released.
Thus far, Squid Game won awards in three different categories. The series won an award for outstanding production design, another for outstanding special visual effects, and one for outstanding stunt performance.
Squid Game reality show
To date, Squid Game centers on a group of individuals who are in a financial crisis and participates in a variety of children’s games to win a large sum of money. The only catch is that the games are dangerous and if lost, you will die.
Among the suspenseful events that take place, the players in the series also form emotional connections with one another which often takes a turn for the worst as there can only be one winner. Most times, this is used to get a one-up on the challenges.
Since the release of Squid Game, the series has been the talk of the town. Earlier this year, a real-life version of the game was created for individuals to participate in for a prize of 4, 56 million. The reality show titled Squid Game: The Challenge will also air on Netflix.
