South African National Parks are celebrating their 17th annual SA National Parks week in partnership with Total Energies and FNB. This means you get to access some of the most popular parks across South Africa wherever you may be.
Free entry to South African National Parks
Presently, the South African National Park’s free entry is only reserved for South Africans. This means it does not include tourists coming with tour buses to visit the respective areas.
It is important to note that, visitors will only be allowed entry if they produce a valid South African ID at the gate. If this cannot be shown at the gate, free access will be denied, unfortunately.
To date, the parks will have free entry from the 12th of September until the 16th of September. However, some SANParks have extended their free entry until the weekend. Which is in favor of those who cannot make the weekday visit.

Thus far, the parks available for visitation includes Bontebok National Park, Camdeboo National Park, Garden Route National Park, Golden Gate Highlands National Park, Karoo National Park, and Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
Additionally, Mapunguwe National Park, Marakele National Park, Mokale National Park, Mountain Zebra National Park, Table Mountain National Park, Tanka Karoo National Park, and West Coast National Park will be allowed free entry on the above-mentioned dates.
While the parks will be open to visitors, it is important to note that other activities such as car rides are not included. Of course, this will be an additional expense.
However, the bright side is that visitors will get access to the parks for free. Whereas they might not have been able to afford it before.
