She-Hulk is the latest addition to Marvel’s endless list of superheroes like Ms. Marvel. However, each superhero has its own story. And episode one wastes no time in telling us how Jane becomes a superhero.
Unpacking episode one of She-Hulk
At the very beginning of the series, Jennifer who plays She-Hulk is seen preparing her closing statement in an important case. Her fellow attorneys help her and encourage her while compiling her closing arguments.
During this time, her colleague Nikki bring up the time when she pretty much Hulked out when she was angry. Breaking the third wall, Jennifer looks directly at the audience to explain what exactly Nikki meant by this.
So far, this scene is an event that takes place before Jennifer gets to become She-Hulk. In a pretty much accidental way.
During a ride with her cousin Bruce, Jennifer finds herself distracted by the sex life of Captain America. When suddenly a large ship descends in front of her car. Which sends her car spiraling out of control and eventually crashing.
Jennifer’s superhero origin story
While helping her very human-looking cousin Bruce out of the car, Jennifer and her cousin’s blood are fused together in one of her open wounds. Right here, the origin story begins.
Throughout the first episode of She-Hulk viewers will notice that Jennifer is much better at controlling her anger than Bruce is. For Bruce, it’s become a difficult task to control his anger which has been hulking out at any time.

Unlike She-Hulk, Bruce actually has to create a device that will allow him to control his anger. As for Jennifer, she actually has to be taught how to channel her anger to Hulk out when she needs to.
Evidently, She-Hulk most commonly comes to light when Jen does indeed feel threatened like when she was confronted with a bunch of men following her out of a nightclub.
She-Hulk is now available to stream on Disney+.
