Sanna Marin has come under extreme scrutiny by her opposition and her government in general after a video of herself and her friends was leaked to the press.
Partying video enrages Finnish opposition
To date, Sanna Marin has since responded to the negative publicity following the leak of the video of herself partying with some friends.
“These videos are private and filmed in a private space. I resent that these became known to the public,”
Presently, the video shows Sanna Marin partying with her friends in a public setting. The Prime Minister stated that she will not reveal at whose house the party was being held.
“I spent a night with my friends. We just partied, also in a boisterous way. I danced and sang,”
As reported by CNN, the video clip shows Sanna Marin posing for the camera with some of her friends. She is further seen dancing on the floor and looking into the camera while singing.
To date, Mikko Karna, an opposition MP has since encouraged Sanna Marin to undergo a drug test after revealing that her behavior is not representative of a Prime Minister.
Sanna Marin says she ‘resents’ the fact that the video came out
So far, the Prime Minster has expressed that she is not aware of any drugs being consumed. However, she did share that alcohol was consumed during the night out with her friends.
Following the harsh criticism for the leaked video, Sanna Marin revealed that she is not being blackmailed by anyone. However, she did say that the video was never meant to be shared with the public.
“I am not being blackmailed. These are private videos and they were not supposed to be public,” the prime minister said, adding that “they are filmed this summer and in a private home. I am not telling whose home it is.”

Previously, Sanna Marin has come under fire for going out clubbing after she tested positive for the coronavirus. The PM publicly apologized to everyone during an interview and expressed that she “should have considered the situation more carefully.”
