Instagram Notes is the latest feature on the social media app this week.
Meta introduces Instagram Notes
Following some brainstorming on how to compete with its competitors, Instagram now has some handy features users may find useful or useless.
The new feature allows social media users to have more intimate conversations with people they want to share information with. Through a note that can be sent to a select number of people.
Instagram Notes is somewhat similar to Instagram Stories. As you can either share content with ‘people who follow you’ or ‘close friends’. The only difference is, users only get to use a maximum amount of characters to use in their little notes.
So, Instagram users will be a bit limited when it comes to writing an Instagram Note to their groups of choice. This comes as the character limit for the notes cannot exceed 60 characters.
How does the feature work?
In order to use Instagram Notes, social media users can locate their message button on the app and enter their dm section. Right at the top of the section, users will see an Instagram Notes button which they can click to start their conversions.
After these notes are sent to the people of choice, the responses will come in as Dm’s. Instead of public messages like the comment feature on the app.
One key note is that your Instagram Notes will disappear after 24 hours. In the same way as your Instagram Stories.
Now, this isn’t the only thing Meta has up their sleeve for Instagram. While it is not clear when they will be rolling them out, but there are plans to explore Roll Camera and Glimpse Story. Each feature has a similar aesthetic to TikTok and BeReal respectively. Be on the lookout for more changes soon!
