Gautrain commuters were recently treated to free transportation. And to make things better, a group of dancers surprised the crowd with a flash mob!
Now, in today’s day and age, we barely see such things as a flash mob as it’s typically viewed as thing of the past. But, there was something nostalgic and positive about the recent flash mob in Sandton recently.
Commuters enjoy a surprise dance-off in Gautrain
In a video clip posted to Facebook, Gautrain commuters are going about their day as they normally do. The camera then moves towards one individual who is walking down an escalator. Right before he stops in the middle of the crowd to break into a dance.
Of course, to set the mood, the dancer started dancing to Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars all on his own. Until another male dancer joins in on the fun. This continues this way right until Beat it by Michael Jackson started playing.
At this point, the crowd begins to enjoy the entertainment taking place. With many spotted taking videos of the flash mob taking place in Guatrain.
After this, the group began to look visibly bigger as more dancers continually join in the group during small intervals of the respective songs that played during the surprise dance-off.

To end things off, the flash mob moved into the popular song Jerusalema which is a track many have been playing for hours on end during the peak of Covid-19. Most notably though, many who knew the dance joined in on the dance with others being pulled in for the song.
It was truly a delight to see the faces of many light up during the surprise flash mob. To see the reactions of the commuters during the surprise dance-off, have a look at the video shared below.
