Black Friday comes at the most convenient time of the year with Christmas right around the corner.
Top Black Friday items this year
This year, shoppers have been after some popular items on their wish lists that include air fryers, toasters, blenders, as well as tv sets. On every Black Friday, shoppers are encouraged to be vigilant about scams. Which conveniently make their way through during this busy time of the year.
Some other popular items this year include irons, clothing, and entertainment items as we approach the festive season in just a few days.
OneDayOnly director Laurian Venter warned that shoppers should be on the lookout for heavily discounted items. She explained that at times, discounts may seem too good to be true and most of the time, they are.
Being vigilant to scams
She said, “Sometimes items appear to be heavily discounted, but upon closer examination, customers will note that the ‘original pricing’ may be artificially inflated, and the discount is not a fair reflection of the item’s value,”
Now, since Black Friday comes just days before the festive season hits. This shopping spree day is the perfect time to start buying your Christmas gifts. This comes as prices usually dropped to at least 65 percent off.
According to IOL, FNB cardholders spent at least R2.1 billion on Black Friday savings in 2021. This is currently over six percent more than shoppers spent in the previous year, 2020. Shoppers have also saved their monies for this particular day in the hopes of some of their times being discounted this year.
Previously, FNB advised their customers to try and spend their e-bucks instead of their money. To avoid out-of-pocket spending during the chaotic shopping day and of course, the many scams that take place.
Right now, Black Friday offers are expected to either last until midnight, until the 30th of November, or until early December. Happy shopping!
