One thing to always look forward to when Easter comes around is most definitely…the Easter eggs! These Strawberry Surprise Easter Eggs are a fruity and healthier take on your normal Easter eggs but are oh so tasty and indulgent.
The Perfect Taste Combination
These Easter eggs will be a firm favourite for those who love combining fruit and chocolate for their desserts. The sweet and slightly tarty strawberry flavour is set off with a coating of smooth cream cheese. Then an added layer of delectable melted dark chocolate brings the entire taste sensation together. You can use any chocolate you would like. I am a lover of 90% dark chocolate, however, my taste buds have adapted to enjoy the subtle sweetness of really dark chocolate. If your pallet is accustomed to a sweeter diet, I suggest dark chocolate with 70% cocoa. Plus, if you want to step up the sweetness even more, you can mix the sweetener of your choice with the cream cheese.
Now that you have the idea, you can also play around with other flavour combinations. Try them with greek yoghurt instead of cream cheese, or swap out the berries. Raspberries or black berries make a delicious alternative for when you are in the mood for something a little different. Plus, you can go for a vegan option by using vegan dark chocolate and coconut butter instead of cream cheese. The combinations are endless!
A Quick and Easy Treat
These sweet treats are insanely quick to make, and so easy with only three steps! Making these strawberry Easter eggs is as simple as removing the stem and leaves of the strawberries, coating them in a thin layer of cream cheese, and then dipping them in your melted chocolate. Not only are these treats easy and quick to make, but they also definitely fall under the category of healthier desserts– such a win!
