Black Panther has obtained great success since the release of its first film. Centering much on African culture, the film became popular in the world at large.
Will there be a Black Panther 3?
During interviews at the Golden Globe Awards, Letitia Wright took some time to talk about the second film and whether there would be a third installment of the film.
Speaking to Variety on the red carpet, Letitia Wright noted, “I always try to do positive words and positive thinking, and I believe that good words manifest, so I’m manifesting a ‘Black Panther 3,’ why not?”
While Letitia Wright shared that the third installment is “already in the works”, she noted that the actors and actresses do “need a little bit of a break”. Adding that filming the third film might take a while.
Honoring Chadwick Boseman
To date, the first installment starred the late Chadwick Boseman as the Black Panther in the Marvel film. After enduring years of health struggles, the actor lost his battle with cancer in 2020.
Following his death, the cast and producers sought to make the film in memory of him. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever included countless references to Chadwick Boseman. One of which was a mural of the actor in the film.
In the second film, Letitia Wright becomes the new Black Panther in order to protect her land, Wakanda. While Boseman wasn’t physically present in the film, the cast made sure that his absence was felt throughout many moments.
Earlier this week, actress Angela Basset received a Golden Globe Award for best actress in the film. The actress was accompanied by her fellow stars Letitia Wright, and writer Ryan Coogler. Angela Basset is currently the first actress in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to receive a Golden Globe Award.
