Prince Harry will be releasing his memoir titled Spare in just a day. Before then, the royal sat down in two interviews to discuss his autobiography and his general life as a royal.
Renouncing his royal titles
In his interview with Anderson Cooper, Prince Harry was asked why he and his wife, Meghan Markle wouldn’t renounce their royal titles. Responding to this, Harry shared, “And what difference would that make?”.
Speaking with Tom Bradby, Prince Harry also spoke of being vocal about what happens between himself and his family. Over the years, the royal noted that his relationship with his family had been rather strained, despite reaching out to solve issues. He noted, that “it never had to be this way”
He shared, “I’ve had conversations, I’ve written letters, I’ve written emails, and everything is just, no, you, this is not what’s happening. You are imagining it.’ And that’s really hard to take.”
Prince Harry on processing Princess Diana’s death
In speaking of his mother’s death, Prince Harry noted that he and his brother, Prince William had believed their mother staged her death for a very long time.
When asked how long they believed this, he shared for “many years” following her death. Part of the young royal’s grief was the fact that his father brought a new woman into their life. That is the now Queen Consort Camilla.
Previously, it has been reported that Harry had feared having an “evil stepmother”. The royal also shared that he and his brother begged their father not to marry Camilla.
During his early years, Prince Harry shared that he would watch videos of Princess Diana in order to cry. The father of two frequently reiterates his grief in his current memoir which includes questioning the way his mother died.
Prince Harry denies the royals are racist
While speaking of his previous interview with Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry denied the fact that the royal family is racist. As many may know, the royal and his wife shared that one of the royal members made note of what the skin color of their child might be.
However, it was never revealed who this person was. In essence, Prince Harry shared that the “British media said that” instead.
What the royal thinks of Queen Consort Camilla
Adding onto previous statements, the Prince made his feelings known about Camilla. Considering previous reports that Camilla had been the third person in his parent’s marriage, Harry noted that Camilla was, in fact, the “villain”.
Why might this be? Well, the royal revealed that her hold on the British media was quite strong and that this made her “dangerous”. He further shared that she was the one that needed to repair her image with the media.
All in all, Prince Harry does think that the rift in the royal family can be repaired. It’s just a matter of when. See part of his interview below.
In his new book, Prince Harry accuses Camilla and even his father, at times, of using him or William to get better tabloid coverage for themselves. Prince Harry writes, Camilla “sacrificed me on her personal P.R. altar.” https://t.co/oBAfNSc2cp pic.twitter.com/2S76o3dzpg
