Following the news of his death, social media quickly began speculating that the Simelane and Maphumulo families found out about his death via social media. However, the family representative, Zanele Maphumulo shared that this was fake news.
She said, “We won’t be entertaining things which are spoken without evidence. Both families, the Maphumulos and Simelanes, were with Mampintsha when he passed away. We didn’t hear it from anyone, we were there,“
Earlier this week, the government revealed that they would accommodate half of the expenses for Mampintsha’s funeral. The funeral is scheduled to take place this Friday, the 30th of December. However, the venue for the service has not been confirmed yet.
The family hasn’t revealed whether the funeral service will be live-streamed. Given the memorial service was streamed to everyone, the family might consider keeping the funeral to close members of the family this Friday. More details are expected to follow soon.
