In a light-hearted video, DJ Fresh (Thato Sikwane) and his wife Thabiso Sikwane announced that they are, in fact, going through a divorce. The couple further explained that they have been separated since lockdown and are now “finalising” the divorce.
The pair, who have been married for 20 years, released a joint statement on their separate social media platforms, explaining the facts of their marriage.
“Yes, it’s a fact, we are heading for divorce, we’re in the process. We’ve been at it for the past two years,” Thabiso said.
The ups and downs of DJ Fresh’s marriage
Despite being one of Mzansi’s “It” couples for all these years, they have gone through many tough times throughout their relationship. This includes DJ Fresh having a child out of wedlock with his manager, Tsholo Mosaka, as well as the rape allegations that came out against him.
However, in the video they shared whilst on their beautiful farm, they claimed that they will remain friends and business partners. And DJ Fresh acknowledged that people were expecting there to be drama. But according to the couple, there are no bad vibes between the pair who share three children together.
“We’ve been separated most, if not all, of lockdown and we are finalising the finer details. We still have each other’s backs. I think people are expecting drama but there will never be drama between us because we’ll always love each other,” DJ Fresh said.
