Mzansi Magic’s newest reality show, Twice as Bold, will have its audience hooked from the first episode. Following the lives of twins Olwethu and Owami Siko, they will go on a journey to find love again.
The twins share the same ex-husband
These twins truly believe in “sharing is caring” and first made a name for themselves 11 years ago when they both married the same man.
The Siko twins were 21-years-old when they married TV director Mzukiseni Mzazi. And after both having a child with Mzazi, both got divorced from him after 9 years of marriage.
“Born in Vosloorus, the 31-year-old sisters’ tough childhood brought them even closer than expected – so close that they were married to the same man for nine years. Now divorced and with daughters born two months apart fathered by the ex-husband, the twins are on a journey to accept their spiritual calling as prophets – and to find a new husband,” reads the press statement from Mzansi Magic.
And when asked why they chose to marry the same guy, Owami explained:
“We didn’t choose to date the same guy nor do we choose to have feelings for the same person. We grew up sharing everything, and that is something that we would not plan either. When our grandmother who raised us would give us apples, for instance, we would always take one and share it rather than have whole apples each.
“Growing up we would get prophesied by various people that we would marry the same person because of the chemistry and love we share between us.”
Don’t miss the Siko twins’ TV debut
And so, the 13-part show will document the journey Olwethu and Owami take together to hopefully find their new Mr Right while also dealing with everyday challenges and family drama on screen.
“When the reality TV show idea was presented to us, we were excited because it was something that we’ve always wanted to do. As television graduates, we always wanted to be in the media space, and although we never were able to follow through with that dream because our ex-husband thought it was as if we were selling our souls, we knew that one day we would embark on it. And what better way of doing that than letting people into our lives as we find love,” said Olwethu.
The show will also give insight into the twins’ messy divorce, motherhood and learning to stand on their own.
