It’s no secret that the Royal Family and Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle clearly do not get along. And in the ongoing feud between the “ex-royals” and the rest of the family, things seem to just get worse as Prince Harry announces that he will not be attending the late Prince Philip’s memorial service.
Labelled as “destructive” and “unpredictable”
These two words are definitely not what you would describe a member of the Royal family as – but according to a royal commentator, Richard Fitzwilliam, this is exactly what Harry and Meghan are.
“Whatever future they want, they’re completely unpredictable in my opinion.”
He continued: “Don’t keep knocking the British Royal Family. Don’t keep knocking your family, which it is. They have a very destructive side, and Oprah showed that very clearly.
During this tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey last year, the couple held nothing back and went public with many issues they had with the Royals.
And some of the main problems included alleged racist remarks that were made regarding the skin colour of Harry and Meghan’s first child and an argument between Meghan and Kate Middleton.
Since then the couple has kept their distance from England and many royal engagements.
Prince Harry feels it is unsafe to travel
And the most recent royal engagement Harry is going to skip is his late grandfather, Prince Philip’s Memorial Service. The service is set to take place at Westminster Abbey on 29 March and will commemorate the late Duke’s relationship with the church.
The Duke of Sussex explained that he will not be attending as he believes it is “unsafe” to be travelling, especially after his personal security was scaled down after distancing himself from the Royal family and moving to America.
Harry also recently sent in his application for a judicial review of a decision that was made by the Home Office. And the decision was made that he is not allowed to personally pay for security for himself and his family when they are in the UK.
However, Harry insists on paying the security himself, and won’t use “taxpayers’ money”.
