South African actress Thuso Mbedu earns a big recognition
In a recent post to Instagram, Thuso Mbedu shared the exciting news with her fans. The actress noted, “ We’re in good company” after sharing that she was named one of the top ten actors by the New York Times.
Her latest recognition comes after her role in The Woman King. Thuso starred as Nawi who joins the Dahomey Warriors in the fight for freedom and their land. The actress starts alongside Viola Davis. The actress is considered to be a household name around the world.
Earlier this year, Thuso Mbedu received another great honor. was also named a rising star by the Toronto International Film Festival in August. Of the honor, the actress shared her gratitude for the recognition.
“Thank you TIFF for this beautiful recognition. I look forward to learning and having an incredibly awesome time at the Toronto International Film Festival, where everyone will get to see The Woman King for the first time.”
Before taking her career to an international scale, Thuso Mbedu secured roles in Scandal, Saint, and Sinner, as well as the film The Underground Railroad.
Thuso crashes Jonathan’s photoshoot
Recently, Thuso Mbedu stole the hearts of her fans when she showed off her affectionate friendship with bestie Jonathan Majors.
Taking to Instagram, Mbedu shared a snippet of behind-the-scenes footage of a photoshoot that Jonathan Majors was attending. In the clip, the actress playfully gatecrashes her friend’s photoshoot. As she jumps in to take some photos.
She captioned the clip, “Gatecrashed bestie’s photo moment and then he discovered that I have two left feet.” In relation to the post, Thuso Mbedu referenced the little dance the pair had in the middle of the shoot.
In the clip, the pair is seen taking photos together before they break into a short little dance. Thuso evidently isn’t too impressed by her dancing skills and describes her little dance as having two left feet.
