Annie Wershing died in the early hours of Sunday morning. This is according to a statement shared by her publicist Craig Schneider to CNN.
According to the statement obtained by CNN, Annie Wershing died after a long battle with cancer. The type of cancer was not disclosed.

Earlier reports by Deadline reports that Annie Wershing was first diagnosed with cancer in 2020. However, the actress continued working following her diagnosis. Her passing comes just a month after the passing of Pele. The soccer legend died in 2022 following a battle with cancer as well.
The actress voiced the character named Tess in the video game titled The Last of Us. the video game has since turned into a tv series adaptation and is reportedly one of the best tv series based on a video game.
Learning of her death, the founder of The Last of Us video game, Neill Druckman shared a tribute to Annie Wershing.
He shared, “Just found out my dear friend, Annie Wersching, passed away. We just lost a beautiful artist and human being. My heart is shattered. Thoughts are with her loved ones.”
Since the news of her passing, The Handmaids Tale actress Ever Carradine created a GoFundMe page in honor of Wershing. The actress expressed that this was in an effort for her family “to live life in a way that they know would make Annie proud.”
Actor Stephen Full and husband to Annie Wershing shared his own moving tribute to CNN. He wrote:
“There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today. But she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. ‘Go find it. It’s everywhere.’ And find it we shall,”
The career of Wershing
In her career that spanned two decades, Annie Wershing is known for her roles on tv shows such as 24, in which she played FBI Agent, Renee Walker. The actress formed part of the show for the seventh and eighth seasons of the show.
The actress also had roles in shows such as Marvel’s Runaways, The Vampire Diaries, and The Rookie. Annie came to prominence in roles as Renee Walker and would later take on a role as the Borg Queen in Star Trek: Picard. Her role as the Borg Queen is currently her most recent film credit.
