Sports enthusiast, Robert Marawa to start a new radio show
In a post to Twitter, Robert Marawa revealed that he will be hosting a new radio show. That is, on the 1st of February this year. The former SABC employee was previously fired from the network but is now starting off on a clean slate.
His post read, “A new chapter. A new challenge. An honor to join a beast of a radio station in @947.”

The new radio show is set to discuss all things sport and was first created in order to gain a larger audience for the radio station. The show was revealed by the host to air on more than one platform.
It will air on Risefm943, VumaFm, and Sowetan Live.
This Wednesday will mark the first day the show will air. It is expected to begin at 6 pm on weekdays. The current radio show hosted by Robert is titled Marawa Sports Worldwide and will tackle topics on gender equality, racial transformation, and how sports have uplifted the lives of many people.
About the new opportunity, Robert relayed that the move to Primemedia is the best career move thus far.
He said:
“My move to Primedia is both historic and exciting in creating a wider reach for all Marawa Sports Worldwide fans, especially for Gauteng residents who have been complaining about being left out,”
In his career thus far, Robert Marawa has had the pleasure of interviewing stars such as Serena Williams, Usain Bolt, and even the late Nelson Mandela.
947s station manager, Naidoo expressed that Sports Worldwide will feature topics of sports, live interviews, exclusive exposes, and real-time updates.
This Wednesday, listeners can expect a one-hour show set to air on the above-mentioned platforms at 6 pm.
