Elon Musk has not been the Chief Executive of Twitter for at least a month and things are already beginning to go south.
In a letter given to staff recently, Elon Musk shared that his workers should agree to longer working hours and become a bit more hardcore at their job or leave. For many, the choice was simple.
Could Elon Musk be the demise of Twitter?
Right now, Elon Musk has sent a notice to his staff sharing that offices will remain closed until the 21st of November. A reason for this decision was not given at the time.
Amid the closure, it seems that the staff at Twitter is not too impressed with their new owner. As they have faced a considerable amount of threats to their job. Since the new CEO took up his title.
Thus far, countless Twitter employees have embarked on leaving the company instead of staying and heeding to the demands of Elon Musk.
Staff layoffs and resignations
One former employee of the platform noted that Elon Musk had threatened their jobs in multiple emails. About the best tweeps working at the company. The unmanned individual also shared that there might be 2000 employees left after many had decided to leave.
The individual noted, “I didn’t want to work for someone who threatened us over email multiple times about only ‘exceptional tweeps should work here’ when I was already working 60-70 hours weekly,”
More recently, Twitter has been facing a considerable amount of glitches. As a result of staff layoffs in the past month. To date, more fake accounts have been made. In different attempts to spread fake news on the platform.
Right now, former engineers at Twitter claim that the platform may fail as soon as Monday. After the constant hiccups thus far. However, Elon Musk doesn’t seem to be bothered by this. As the billionaire took to his Twitter to share a little message.
He wrote, “The best people are staying, so I’m not super worried”.
