The controversial poet, Ntsiki Mazwai, has once again caused a stir on Twitter this week when she chose to share “another unpopular opinion”. And this time she took a hit at Queen B herself.
Ntsiki Mazwai makes trouble on Twitter
On Monday, Mazwai tweeted that she never actually thought superstar Beyoncé was pretty, but she was only considered as such because of her light skin.
One more unpopular opinion…. Iv never thought Beyonce was pretty, just light skin privelege 😂😂😂😂😂Morning!!!!!!

And despite the drama between Will Smith and Chris Rock, social media users could not stop raving about how Beyoncé’s performance at the Oscars was. So when Mazwai tweeted that comment, all hell broke loose.
One Twitter user responded to the poet’s comment with a picture of Queen B looking beautiful. But instead, Mazwai took things further and responded by saying “Makeup and weaves is not my standard of beauty…”
Make up and weaves is not my standard of beauty sthandwa Sam… https://t.co/V7DuQdpuXO

Followers of both Beyoncé and Mazwai were clearly over the negativity and questioned why the poet insists on pointing out how “not beautiful black women are”.
What's this obsession with pointing out how "not beautiful" black women are? No other race does this to their women, but we're obsessed with it. Beyonce is not a beauty queen mos, why must she meet our "beauty standards". Talk about her work, not her looks.

Hopefully, Ntsiki Mazwai will start being more aware before she just starts tweeting her thoughts. Otherwise, the Beyhive (Beyoncé’s fan base) will definitely be coming for her.
