Wednesday has topped the viewing charts since the day it landed on Netflix. Fans can now begin to get excited as the series is now confirmed to have a second season on the way!
Netflix renews Wednesday
In the announcement made by Netflix, Wednesday, played by Jenna Ortega, narrates the announcement as the clip moves between scenes of the first season. Before the clip comes to a close, it notes that more misery is coming!
She shares, “For weeks I’ve been hunted, haunted, and mimicked across the internet a million times. It’s been pure torture, thank you.”
Within weeks of airing on Netflix, Wednesday has already been renewed. Thanks to all the buzz around the series and the viewing statistics since its release.
Actress Jenna Ortega took to Twitter to share her gratitude with her fans for making the second season possible.
She wrote, “Thanks to everyone who made this upcoming season possible. This has all been pretty surreal.”
The series which is written by Tim Burton has become one of the most popular series from December 2022 until 2023. Wednesday has particularly become a favorite among the teens. As the series reflects on the teenage life of the Addams family member.
What to expect from season 2
Now, season 1 was filled with complicated mysteries surrounding each character, including Wednesday. We have since come to find that one of the character’s love interests is the beast everyone has been looking out for.
Following the murder of the principal at Nevermore Academy, Wednesday along with the other students has been sent home. Since there’s no one to take charge of the school, we’re left wondering who the next person to take over will be.
Of course, the relationship between Wednesday and Xavier should also be explored in the next season. Will they actually end up together or perhaps share a kiss?
Thus far, The Addams Family has been a hit around the world for their paradoxical mannerisms. From the mind of Tim Burton, the sequel Wednesday was birthed. While there aren’t any official details on when production starts, viewers can expect more information within a few months or at least a year.
