After a Twitter spat between actress Brenda Ngxoli and entertainment blogger Phil Mphela, Mphela claimed that the popular Mzansi Magic telenovela The Queen has been cancelled.
The dispute between the pair began when Mphela first claimed that Ngxoli, who is known for portraying the beloved role of Noma, quit the popular show. And according to the entertainment commentator, the actress quit due to a “salary issue that could not be resolved”.
Ngxoli immediately stepped in and shut down the claims, calling Mphela’s comments “wack gossip”.
What's this Phil. Uxokela Ntoni?

She responded to his tweets with the fact that not only is she treated well by Ferguson Films – owned by Connie Ferguson and her late husband Shona – but she is also paid well.
The argument over Twitter got more heated when Ngxoli further questioned the statements: “What’s this Phil. Uxokela Ntoni?” [why are you lying].
Mphela simply replied – “It’s been a month since you quit”. And of course, this completely set the actress off, claiming that Mphela should get better sources.
So now you are telling me What I did a month ago Mpela and yet mna I know nothing ngalento uyithethayo #HandsOffFergusonFilms ….. yiza nazo! What else did I do that I have no idea of. Check your Sources. I love ❤ @Connie_Ferguson @FegusonFilms for the opportunity and love

Mphela drops another bomb regarding The Queen
Obviously angered by Ngxoli questioning his claims, Mphela takes it another step further and threatens to “drop another bomb” on both The Queen viewers and actors.
“I wasn’t gonna do the next post today because the cast has not been [informed] and I wanted to respect the production enough to give them time. But Brenda is trying to discredit me so lemme drop another bomb!” he tweeted.
He then tweeted that the beloved telenovela The Queen won’t be renewed for another season.

After almost 7 years on air, the Mzansi Magic telenovela will not be renewed for another season.

Ferguson Films claps back over The Queen claims
Ferguson Films casting director and daughter of Connie and Shona Ferguson, Lesedi Matsunyane-Ferguson, calls Mphela out for his claims against the show and “tarnishing” an actor.
