On Tuesday, media personality Minnie Dlamini and her estranged husband, television producer Quinton Jones announced that they are filing for officially getting a divorce. The couple was married for four years but have also been living apart for over a year before deciding to officially end the relationship.
Minnie Dlamini and Quinton Jones couldn’t recover after a “devastating loss”
The statement was released via Instagram and Dlamini reveals that her and Jones’ relationship was never the same again after a “devastating loss” that happened two years ago. The incident led to “emotional burden” and “post-traumatic distress”.
“Despite our better efforts to absorb the changes in motion, the emotional burden and the post-traumatic distress of our individual loss outweighed our will,” the couple shared.
The couple made their separation clear
Sources close to Dlamini also shared that cracks in their relationship started showing after she moved into her home in the exclusive Copperleaf Golf Estate in Centurion over a year ago. And according to the source, Jones did not move with her.
“When Minnie moved into that house, she did not move in with Quinton. Quinton went back home to stay with his mother and sister. Even last year when she went to Cape Town on that holiday with Unathi Nkayi and their friends, Quinton was not there and it was pretty obvious that they were sure about their separation.”
In the statement, the couple says that they will stay good friends and put their baby son first.
“After months of separation and consultations with our family and a counsellor, we have taken the decision to officially file for divorce. Despite the end of our marriage and romantic relationship, we remain friends, business partners and loving parents to our beautiful son.”
