On Monday, Sonia Booth took to social media to expose her husband Matthew Booth.
SuperSport shares its stance on Matthew Booth
In numerous social media posts, Sonia Booth detailed a few events that took place over the past few months. Which includes a cheesecake Matthew Booth made for his alleged mistress, Bongani Moller.
More recently though, SuperSport shared where they stand on the matter as many feel that Matthew Booth should be suspended or take time off until everything simmers down. However, SuperSport did not give the response that many wanted to hear.
As of today. SuperSport expressed that they will be distancing themselves from the affair allegations posed against Matthew Booth over the past few days. They shared that the situation is a “private matter”.
However, this was met with intense criticism as Katlego Maboe faced a similar situation in which his wife aired out their personal affairs. The presenter was subsequently let go of claims of abuse made by his then-wife Monique Muller.
Former soccer player speaks out
Social media felt that Matthew Booth was not receiving the same reaction for his actions of infidelity toward his wife. But Katlego Maboe’s career suffered as a result of his infidelity toward his wife.
However, Katlego Maboe was not let go by OutSurance and Expresso because of his infidelity. The two companies’ stance was in solidarity against the abuse of women. However, when the presenter won the court case, he was allowed to return to the Expresso Show on S3.
In the meantime, Matthew Booth is sharing that the cheating allegations are unfounded and that they are untrue. He further expressed that this matter is now under the guidance of his lawyers and that the truth will prevail.
The soccer star wrote, “It is with utmost sadness and disappointment that my wife Sonia Booth resorted to airing these unfounded allegations on all public platforms with [the] intention to tarnish my name without discussing them with me, and without considering the damage the allegations will cause, especially to our minor children who are in the middle of their final exams and to the Mthombeni-Moller family.”
