What to expect in season 2
Due to the untimely passing of Shona Ferguson, the character Simon, also known as Vader will not be returning. This comes as Shona Ferguson died from complications of Covid-19 in 2021. It is not yet clear whether the producers plan on replacing him.
Teasing the second season, Connie Ferguson revealed that season two will be very exciting for viewers to watch. The actress previously didn’t know if she could go through making a season without Shona. However, producer Davis pushed it to happen.
As previously reported, the concept of the series was developed by Shona Ferguson. Even though the actor isn’t physically present, Connie noted his “presence will be felt”. One reason why Connie Ferguson decided to go through with the second season is to keep the memory of her husband, Shona Ferguson alive. More so, continuing his legacy.
“I think we managed to come up with an exciting story that people will be excited to watch. We’re excited for them to see Kings of Jo’burg season 2.”
This season, fans will get to see the memory of Shona reverberating through the season As the cast did their best to keep his memory alive this time around. There will also be some changes as reported by Zimoja, Connie Ferguson’s ex-husband, Neo Matsunyane will be joining the cast for the second season.
