King Charles was anything but bothered by the eggs thrown at him by a protester.
Protesting student throws King Charles with eggs
According to a bystander, there were a group of protesters standing with posters that read “Not my King”. This was followed by a student throwing at least five eggs toward King Charles and the Queen Consort.
However, none of the eggs that were intended for the royals, managed to touch them. An unfazed King Charles briefly looked at the empty shells on the ground and continued to greet the bystanders.
This has become quite common for the monarch since the late Queen Elizabeth II died. Following her passing, King Charles met plenty of citizens of Britain who offered the new monarch their deepest sympathies.
Right now, the student is believed to be attending the University of York. He is currently in police custody for committing an offense toward the royals.
Unveiling of the Queens statue
In the current video clip making its rounds on the media, police in Yorkshire quickly managed to contain the young man and proceeded to lift him over the temporary fencing for the day’s developments.
The motivation behind the protest reportedly comes from his and many other protesters’ belief that the country was started through the backs of slaves. To resist his rule, protesters made their way on the streets to chant ‘not my king’.
However, this was met with criticism from the large crowd who in opposition chanted God Save the King. The song was previously dubbed God save the Queen before the passing of Queen Elizabeth.
To date, the University of Yorkshire is treating the matter of the student seriously and aims to take appropriate action against the student.
Thus far, King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla embarked on a two-day trip to Yorkshire in order to unveil the statue of the late Queen Elizabeth. This was last done by the late Queen in 2012.
