In February 2017 Khloé Kardashian posted an image of model Bella Hadid wearing her clothing brand, Good American, on her personal Instagram page.
However, after four years, Alo Photography is suing the clothing brand to “recover damages” for copyright infringement. The photography company is claiming that they own the rights to the photos that Khloé had shared.
Bella Hadid snapped wearing Good American
In the photos that the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star had posted at the time, Bella can be seen wearing a leather jacket and a pair of “distressed black jeans” from Good American. The shots were taken just as Bella was leaving a building.
Khloé captioned the photos with: “My baby @bellahadid is rocking her @goodamerican denim!! I love you Bella baby”.
And Bella commented on the pictures with a crown and red heart emoji, adding, “Love YOU!!!!!”
Kardashian accused of promoting her business with the images
Alo Photography is arguing that Khloé used the images to “promote” her business by posting them on her personal social media account.
“Upon information and belief, the infringements increased traffic to the account and, in turn, caused the defendant to realize an increase in its merchandise sales [for Good American].”
Since then, the images have been removed from Khloé‘s social media account. Alo Photography, however, is still seeking an injunction that prohibits Good American from using its images on social media accounts.
