Jungkook performs Dreamers at the World Cup opening
This comes as Jungkook is the first Asian singer to sing the official World Cup anthem as of late. Musicians such as Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, and Shakira have previously performed at different world cup games.
To celebrate, the bandmates of the singer took to their individual Instagram handles to share snippets of Jungkook performing on the worldwide stage. Each member shared a unique caption for their band member with one sharing that they have goosebumps as a result of his performance.
Jungkook performed his recent single Dreamers at the World Cup just minutes before the teams were to kick off their respective matches. Actor Morgan Freeman also made a surprise appearance at the opening ceremony. The actor didn’t share any notification that he would be participating in the World Cup festivities this year.
Thus far, Jungkook and his fellow BTS group members took a break from making music this year to focus on their solo careers. The young band member subsequently made a smash hit with Charlie Puth called Left and Right.
The label for the group previously shared that BTS will be undergoing their mandatory military service during their time off as a group. In Korea, all men should undertake military service before they turn aged 30.
To date, the band would previously have been exempt from doing military service given the amount of money they have made their country so far. However, this was met with much criticism which led to the band ultimately having to complete it regardless.
